One Pot Meth Labs Producing Meth Addicts at much faster rate

Posted by Rehab Editor in OKlahoma Drug Treatment Centersinpatient drug rehabAddiction Treatment

Meth lab incidents are rising significantly in Oklahoma and other states thanks largely to the new "one pot" meth labs. Meth "cooks" have developed a much quicker ande more mobile method of producing methamphetamine using various chemicals and in smaller quantities.

This new method, known as shake and bake involves mixing highly volatile chemicals in less than approved containers like soda cans or plastic bottles, that when mixed together create pressure that often goes awry. Many people have suffered major injuries, burns and loss of life as a result. Still yet, the allure is more than most meth addicts can resist.

To avoid prosecution these labs are often mobile with meth makers driving around while the chemical reaction takes place to avoid detection. This creates a public safety hazard in many areas. Potential traffic accidents can occur resulting from toxic inhalation or fires, and the chemical waster leftover is usually just tossed out the window.

Lawmakers and enforcement cannot keep pace. Inpatient drug rehab centers can't either. Laws have been enacted while those that stand to profit, with complete disregard for others and the devastation created, create new ways to produce the same result. Basically, meth is created by changing the molecular structure of pseudoephedrine, which is very similar into methamphetamine. There are many ways to do this.

Addiction treatment counselors know the hardest part in dealing with an addict, particularly at the outset of treatment, is handling the toxic effects of the drugs. These effects can create psychosis, depression and anxiety like none other. There Oklahoma drug treatment centers that effectilve deal with this providing a nutritional regimen with body purification program that can rid the body of harmful toxins. This helps the addict feel better physically and emotionally.

Continually cleaning up after the death and destruction brought on by any drug or alcohol addiction is a lost cause. Educating youth and adults about drugs is the key to preventing drug addiction. Also helping those that contribute to the production of these dangerous drugs to understand just exactly what kind of devastation results from their actions.

Inpatient Rehabs see surge in prescription drug addiction and bath salts

Posted by Rehab Editor in prescription drug addictioninpatient rehabinpatient drug rehabAddiction Treatment

Inpatient rehab counselors dont really wonder why we have a drug problem, they know. New drugs are being invented each and every day with billons of dollars passing through hands back and forth only to leave bodies scattered. Regional shift in drug abuse trends have shown promise in some areas, like methamphetamine abuse and addiction treatment being on the decline, while some regions are experiencing dramatic increases in others.

Inpatient drug rehabs centers throughout the country are seeing significant increases in prescription drug addiction treatment admissions and new designer drugs sold as bath salts. Bath salts can be purchased over the counter in most head shops that sell smoking accessories and incense.

While these drugs are legal they are wreaking havoc with side effects from paranoia and hallucinations to overdose and death. Many health professionals cannot get a grip on the root causes of the rise in drug abuse in  these areas, when it clear to the drug rehab and treatment counselors associated with Inpatient Drug Rehab. The overall outlook on all drugs is that some are medicines, even drug stores and commercials markets drugs as "medicines" that are needed.

While it is true sometimes drugs are neccesary, to the degree they are marketed direct to the consumer is the degree we have substance abuse and addiction problems. Youngester cannot discern one drug from another thereby realizing the inherent dangers contain in their abuse. So when approached with something prescribed by a doctor or packaged in very interesting container next to cash register, poor and uninformed decisions are made.

An estimated 7000 kids a day experiment with prescription drugs with an approximate 20% predicted to develope a substance abuse or addiction problem. Substance abuse treatment counselor's have a hard time keeping their purposes when faced with numbers such as these.

Inpatient Rehabs see surge in Designer Drugs

Posted by Rehab Editor in inpatient rehabAddiction Treatmentaddiction

Inpatient rehab programs throughout the country are seeing a surge in treatment admissions for the new designer drugs that come in the form of bath salts or look alike marijuana. Most of the products are being shipped in from China and distributed throughout the country and sold in convencience stores or head shops. The scary part is there is no regulation on the sale of these drugs, unless the attendant at the participating distributor feels an obligation these things are often purchased by 13 or 14 year old kids looking for a cheap thrill.

Hospitals and inpatient rehab programs are seeing a five fold increase in admissions since this same time last year. Young people are reporting psychotic symptoms like hallucinations, hearing voices and seeing aliens. Many of these designer, although labeled as not for human consumption, people are getting sick, hallucinating and dying from these dangerous chemicals.

Law enforcement officials with the Drug Enforcement Administration are doing their best to keep up by outlawing the products almost as fast as they hit the shelves. The bad part about this is, these chemicals are able to be reproduced just one molecule apart, making it almost impossible for officials to keep up.

The drug problem in the US is higher than its ever been and with Texas Inpatient Rehab programs being hit heavy with the drugs coming over the boarder, and with these new drugs hitting the shelves coming from China, education is the key to keeping our kids safe. I speak to parents all the time who tell me that " on no not my kids" and those are the ones we read about in the paper.

People are praying on our youngsters and we need to be aware, please don't keep your head in the sand, take a look and be sure! Its never to late to educate. The information I give kids and adults alike are the dangerous toxic effects of all drugs and they should be treated as poisons.

Charlie Sheen needs drug intervention!

Posted by Rehab Editor in inpatient drug rehabAddiction Treatment

You know its really sad to watch  another American Icon, celebrity or talent waste away. Its obvious the public likes Charlie Sheen, anything he does seems to succeed. Yet, with everything at stake he keeps on going and going and going. People are growing tired of hearing about his antics it would seem, I guess when there are stories and new events almost daily this may or may not be the case.

I am afraid we are soon to read about one last episode concerning Mr Sheen and that will be the end of it. Something can be done to help him, his family could step in, an intervention could be done. There are many inpatient drug rehab facilities that could help him.

Apparently his family has attempted to step to no avail and many say Hollywood is enabling, which I believe to be true. A standard of behavior has to be set and most hasn't in this case.

According to sources Good Time Charlie hopes to return to CBS and his show by the end of the month, and no telling if staff will accept him or not. How Sheen will be received is up in the air. The shows staff do not get paid while he is rehab, because if he is not present they can't shoot.

By all rights, he should pay the staff out of his own money, lord knowshe has enough. Many people doubt he is taking this seriously and we from all the evidence that would certainly prove to be the case. Something will happen to him, no one can continue like this and it not. I just hope he lives through it.

Drug Education is key to drug war

Posted by Rehab Editor in substance abuseprescription drug addictioninpatient drug rehabdrug addiction treatment centerdrug addictionAddiction Treatmentaddiction

An education on drugs and addiction is without a doubt badly needed. With truthful information. I recently read an article telling about a three star general prescribed powerfully addictive prescription pain killers, becoming addicted and almost ruining his life. He had no idea how the drugs worked or how he could possible become addicted. Another story I read in the Huffington Post telling of a young mother suffering addiction to methamphetamine killing her newborn baby by breastfeeding and passing on the powerful toxins to the baby.

What can we do? We have to take the fundamental approach to educating people from the top down about what physiological changes happen in the body causing one to become addicted and how it works. Prescription drugs are as dangerous, if not more so than street drugs. You should be aware however, many prescriptions that are illegal are still prescribed in various forms and even given to kids. Dexedrine for instance is methamphetamine and prescribed to kids for ADHD.

What do we do about it? People that profit from sale of drugs need to take responsiblity to the negative consequences. I am speaking of pharmaceutical companies. Methamphetamine would not exist if not invented by BIG PHARMA and exploited by those that profit in Western medicine. Billions of dollars are made each year and what's even more astonishing is that many inpatient drug rehabs  prescribe even more addictive drugs in the rehabilitation program.

We have to take a stance. Many addicts desperately needing addiction treatment  never suspect the addictive qualities of the drugs given and are not fully informed at the time the drugs are given. Yes we have a responsibility for our own well being, but so do the manufacturers of those same drugs, if they truly cared about our well being full disclosure would occur.

None of us are immune to drug addiction or alcoholism, although cureable the devastation and death that result could be avoided if truthful information was provided to the public about these dangerous toxins. Due yourself a huge favor and get educated about all of effects of any drugs you are taking both legal and illegal.

Many people look for help with substance abuse not knowing the first thing about addiction or drug abuse. Therefore, due to all the hype and misinformation about substance abuse treatment, people at first, don't consider inpatient drug rehabs as an option.

Addicts and their loved one's, while truly wanting help feel that all things can be handled in the everyday setting by doing outpatient treatment. Its like being in the deep end of the pool and drowing but refusing to swim to the side. There  are long lasting physical and mental effects that need dealt with that simply can't be done with this type of substance abuse treatment.

Inpatient substance abuse treatment is by far the best option for those needing help. Not all programs are the same, and you should know about addiction, its causes and how to best help the person get into to the program. Sometimes its difficult but the payoff is great. Getting your loved one back is the goal, why not provide the best chance at it.

If you our a loved one need substance abuse or addiction treatment, please seek a long term inpatient drug rehabilitation program and end your addiction for good.
